The first part up until the guitar solo is one song...everything after with the chord & tempo changes is totally another song. And the some of guitar solo is very similar to parts of "One", IMO. It's like they took everything that Metallica is known for lyrically, stylistically and musically and threw it all into one song, hoping something would stick. When I listen to it, I really like it at the beginning, but by the first solo, I'm the same...it becomes annoying. Though I think it's a decent album...but really did we need an "Unforgiven #3"? He needs to stick to what he did before the Black Album or just call it quits. I was watching part of Some Kind Of Monster the other day and saw where he goes to his daughter's ballet recital. Not at all what I was expecting!! And to think, they sold out for their show here in Albuquerque. _________________________

I'm not sure if it was ever in theaters...maybe select cities..but was on VH1 etc.. It chronicles the time when Jason Newsted left Metallica and them going into the studio with Bob Rock without a bassist, and also chronicles them looking for a new bassist and eventually choosing Rob (?) Trujillo (spelling is wrong I'm sure). During this time the band almost breaks up, there's tons of in fighting during the writting sessions. James goes to rehab..the band hires a therapist to inbed with them while they are writing/recording and both before, during and after James in at rehab. It chronicles the day by day stuff (hence alot of scenes of them with thier families like James at his daughter's ballet class which I thought was adorable). Really shows the inner workings of the band...how Lars is a control freak...how Kirk is sort of ignored and walked over and how Lars & James are polar opposites. At one point, the therapist brings in Dave Mustaine to help heal some old wounds. Dave was originally in Metallica during the club days and right before they sealed a deal but they voted him out of the band for his alcohol abuse (he was missing rehersals/screwing up gigs). He went on to form Megadeath but has always had a big chip on his shoulder about being ousted from Metallica especially when they were all drinking, etc. So there's this huge therapy session with him and he's whining and crying, etc. You should definitely try to find it...it's interesting viewing even if you aren't a big Metallica fan. _________________________ It's the thing in you that feeds the animal in me myspace.com/monkeyboymom
